I've thrown these tea bowls with a unique hand blend of porcelain and stoneware clays. I then turn foot rings onto the base for an extra refined finish. These two tea bowls have been dipped in a unique microcrystalline stoneware glaze then high fired to 1300 celsius in a controlled reduction kiln atmosphere. These two bowls are from the front top of the kiln where extra magic happens.
Due to the kiln atmosphere and the glaze these bowls have an exciting deep colour bloom. Ranging from deep pink purples and pink to shades of blue, echoing the sunrise or sunset often found on the west coast of Ireland.
These vessels are dishwasher and oven safe, made for everyday use.
